Syntax Error when trying to login to ACP

Unread postby iplynx » Tue May 24, 2016 5:45 pm

When I try to login to http://192.168.1.37/intramessenger/admi ... onnect.php

I get this error message, I have looked high and low to get this resolved but to no avail. Any ideas? I got this once I changed the password for PHPMyAdmin. Now I can't connect to the database and get the server to respond properly.

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_VARIABLE in E:\im-xampplite\xampplite\htdocs\intramessenger\common\config\mysql.config.inc.php on line 26

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Iplynx

It's look like a very small syntax error.

You may check, that password is inside quotes, and row finish by semicolon

#1
Empty password (may not use) :
Code: Select all
$dbpass = '';

#2
A very easy password :
Code: Select all
$dbpass = '12345678';
or
Code: Select all
$dbpass = "12345678";

#3
A good password :
Code: Select all
$dbpass = 'GgPp12@47T5iDf54{';
or
Code: Select all
$dbpass = "GgPp12@47T5iDf54{";

Hello and thanks for the quick reply.

There is a password already in the file I put in, including quotes.

$dbpass = 'XXXXXXXX';

Do I need to change the pass to something else?
Also it says something about line 26, which is the $database = ''; is there a default name for it?

Thanks again,

You dont need to change the pass, if it's the good one for database.

PHP write about line 26, but problem can be at the 25.
If database empty, cannot works (have to be the one you have, see PHPMyAdmin) : you may read /doc/en/install.html
but first, the problem is a syntax error.
